Centipede: Centipede is often referred to as ""the lazy man's grass"" due to low maintenance requirements making it a popular choice for residential and commercial use. Centipede is a heat tolerant sod that generally goes dormant when the temperature drops below about 55F. Centipede grows best with a soil pH of 5-6.5 and in full sun but can tolerate some shade. Centipede is fairly drought tolerant but usually recovers well from dry periods.

St. Augustine: St. Augustine sod is a warm season grass with a wide blade that can tolerate very warm temperatures. Generally St. Augustine is more tolerant to shade and wear than centipede which should be considered when choosing a sod for your lawn. St. Augustine sod primarily grows in coastal regions and is more salt tolerant than other grasses.

Bahia Grass: Bahia grass is primarily used for erosion control in storm water retention ponds, along roadways, and other large scale commercial areas. Bahia grass has a deep tap root which makes it more drought tolerant than other grasses and grows best in full sun.
